Mario Rendon

District Director Office of Congressman Kevin Mullin

Mario Rendon is currently District Director for Congressman Kevin Mullin. He develops the communications, public relations and constituent service strategy for the office and supervises a small team that represents Mr. Mullin in the 15th Congressional District which encompasses southern San Francisco and the majority of San Mateo County. He continues in the same role he held for a decade for then Assemblymember Kevin Mullin, promoting policies and programs responsive to San Mateo County needs, including climate change, housing, and transportation.

Mario spent 5 years at Pacific Gas & Electric Company, including time as Director of Workforce Development. He oversaw the creation and delivery of training programs and initiatives in collaboration with the education system to address the needs of the current and future energy workforce. He joined PG&E in 2007 as a Government Relations Consultant, responsible for public affairs and community relations.

Prior to joining PG&E, Mario worked with elected officials for over 15 years at the local, state and federal level developing public policy around workforce development, education, healthcare, transportation, housing, environment and civic engagement. He earned a B.A. in Behavioral Science and Latin American Studies from College of Notre Dame (now Notre Dame de Namur University) and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Mario was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the U.S with his family when he was three years old. After spending 4 bone-chilling winters and hot-as-an-oven summers in New Jersey, the family came to its senses and moved to California. Mario grew up in Sunnyvale and San Jose, and lived for a number of years in San Carlos. Due to the high cost of housing, Mario and his wife moved to the foothill community of Oakhurst, outside Yosemite National Park in 2002. They also lived in Fresno before returning to the Bay Area in 2013. He lives with his wife Julie and their two rescue furry children (a lab mix and a terrier mix) in Half Moon Bay.
